It is with great sadness that I write to announce the passing of Neville Rogers (14/9/1932 – 19/7/2017)  this week.

Neville passed away peacefully and with great dignity after an extended illness.

As you would all know, Neville and Lesley Rogers were great supporters of both the Old Trinity and Monash Blues Football Clubs for close to 20 years.

As a dedicated follower of his son David, Neville stands without peer having seen over 350 VAFA games beginning in D Grade in 1985 all the way through to A Grade in the early 2000s. No matter whether fighting relegation or experiencing the triumphs of premiership success, Neville remained stead fast, level headed and a gentleman in every way.

Be it at Monash Blues, Old Trinity Grammarians or indeed the Big V,  those of us fortunate enough to have been involved in Dave’s journey have nothing but the fondest memories of Neville as a man whose loyalty knew no bounds, whose integrity was unquestionable and whose support for his son, his family and the communities in which he was involved was a source of great strength to all who knew him.

Our condolences go out Lesley, Catherine and David.

Neville’s service will be held This Thursday 27th of July at St Johns Church in Burke Road Camberwell at 2 o’clock.
